🎓 Academic Requirements – Algonquin College
1. For Undergraduate (Certificate / Diploma / Bachelor’s) programmes:
Applicants from Nepal must have completed 12 years of schooling (NEB Grade 12 or equivalent) with official academic transcripts. A minimum overall average of 50–60% is generally required, depending on the program. Some programs may require specific Grade 12 subjects such as English, Mathematics, or Science. Alternatively, one year of successful university study in Nepal may also be considered.
2. For Postgraduate (Graduate Certificate) programmes:
Applicants must hold a recognized diploma or Bachelor’s degree from Nepal or an international institution with second division (approximately 50–55%) or above. A relevant academic background related to the chosen program is required. Certain programs may also require a résumé or Letter of Intent.
3. English Language Requirement:
Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. An IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) is required for most undergraduate programs, while IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6.0) is required for postgraduate and bachelor’s degree programs. PTE Academic (minimum 60 for UG and 61–65 for PG), TOEFL iBT, Duolingo, or other equivalent English language tests are also accepted.
