🎓 Academic Requirements – Laurentian University
1. For Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) programmes:
Applicants from Nepal must have completed 12 years of schooling (NEB Grade 12 or equivalent) with official transcripts showing graduation. A minimum overall average of 60% is generally expected for direct entry into most programs. Some programs may have specific subject prerequisites (e.g., English, Mathematics, or Science). Alternatively, applicants with one year of successful university study in Nepal may also be considered for admission.
2. For Postgraduate (Master’s) programmes:
Applicants must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree from Nepal or an international institution with second division (approximately 50–55%) or above. Admission to graduate programs may also require a relevant academic background depending on the chosen course, and some programs may ask for résumé, statement of purpose, or letters of recommendation.
3. English Language Requirement:
Applicants from Nepal must demonstrate English proficiency. Generally accepted minimum scores are:
Undergraduate programs: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall (no band less than 6.0) or equivalent (TOEFL iBT 88+, PTE Academic 61+, Duolingo 120+).
Postgraduate programs: IELTS (Academic) 7.0 overall (no band less than 6.5) or equivalent (TOEFL iBT 100+, PTE Academic 65+, Duolingo 125+).
Other recognized English proficiency tests, such as CAEL, may also be accepted.
